Research is a continuous process that generates new information. Periodically, logical accumulations of results occur and publications should be prepared to make information available to users. Southern Directors urge the publication of research results, as appropriate, to facilitate use of data. Such progress reports include dissertations and theses, information series, technical papers, and special reports.
Progress reports. These are usually issued from a specific experiment station (or its university) or a cooperating agency. Such reports should carry a footnote (in addition to such footnotes as are normally included by that station for such publications) essentially as follows:
Contributions from the __________ Agricultural Experiment Station(s) as a result of participation in Southern Multistate Project S-_____ titled “______.”
Any such publication should be approved by the director prior to being issued.
