- The survey results on commodity group indirect cost recovery can be seen here. This table contains our region’s responses and all the other region’s responses as of September 18.
- Potential Unmanned Aircraft Multistate Project – Rick Roeder and Craig Nessler
- There may be a need to initiate a multistate project focused on use of unmanned aircraft in agriculture. A 10-min video produced by MS State at the link below describes potential impacts of this use. We will discuss whether or not a director sponsored meeting on this topic is warranted
- agInnovation South Web Site Redesign – Eric Young
- It’s been over 10 years since the agInnovation South web site design has been updated. The other three regions have updated their sites within the past couple years, with the new NERA site just released last month. I think the NERA site (http://nera.rutgers.edu/) is the best design for ease of use and information presented and would like to redesign our web site in a similar manner
- USDA APHIS Issue – Craig Nessler
- APHIS has started to require proof of OSHA compliance for their research agreements even though LGU’s are considered exempt from OSHA regulations. See handout here
In meeting notes:
- Eric will contact the current Southern APS chair about a joint meeting in fall 2016
- It was decided that one director, Jackie Burns, will represent agInnovation South at the NPB meeting in Feb 2016
- Eric will request directors to submit a faculty name for aq conference call to consider the potential for a multistate research project on unmanned aircraft use ub agriculture. Depending on the outcome of that call, there may be a director sponsored meeting early next year to begin developing a proposal.
- Eric will get an estimate fro redesign of SAAED web site from someone at NCSU and the person at Rugers who did the NERA site redesign
