Ad Hoc Committees

The Chair may appoint ad hoc committees comprised of members of the Association or faculties of the member institutions to address one-time issues or activities of relevance to the Association. Individual members or standing committees of the Association may propose ad hoc committees. Depending on the issue, the Chair may seek consensus of the members of the Association prior to appointing such committees.

Ad hoc committees should be given a specific charge, including a clear statement of the expected product of the committee’s activity. There should be a definite term of appointment for the ad hoccommittee; extensions past the term must be approved by the Chair. Ad hoc committees should generally have a term of two years or less.
